X has “reportedly worked with Donald Trump’s campaign to censor material that could be harmful to the former president’s White House chances as part of a pattern of election interference that is unprecedented in U.S. history,” according to The Daily Beast.

Gee willikers, that sure sounds like it would be illegal. I mean if I were to do this sort of thing, I’m imagining I would be in jail, awaiting trial.

as far as I can tell, none of those laws apply to censorship on what is ultimately a private company’s platform.

Like twitter isn’t a government agency. they’re allowed to be partisan and delete content however they see fit. This would be similar to, say, a newspaper electing to not cover trump’s awkward moments while covering Harris’ awkward moments; or a bakery offering pro-harris cake or cookies but not pro-trump stuff.

the constitution only bars government or public agents from infringing on free speech- it does not bar you from kicking your asshat trumper out of thanksgiving dinner.

so far, the only thing I can see that Musk has done that is against election law is to solicit donors with the $47 he promised to recruiters, so to speak… and that’s… well… I’m not sure that’s going to be an easy case to win.

Rich people buy media to advance their agenda.

Magoos: “Twitter did it to Trump before Musk so it’s ok! Revenge is our bread and butter! Watch me drink liberal tears and laugh over something that enraged me previously! Gratification is more important than integrity!”

Isn’t this similar to working with the Enquirer. Y’know that whole thing where he was convicted for 34 felonies. Guess we’ll get another conviction and no justice 4 years from now?

Elon Musk will be bankrupt within three years and at this speed, likely jailed as well

You have no idea how much money these fuckers have. He pissed away 40 billion and it literally changed NOTHING in his life. Once you are a billionaire it’s harder to go bankrupt than make more money.

        Not really

He had to borrow tonnes of money to make the purchase, he didn’t finance it all himself. The interest alone amounts to about a billion per year, twitter is done for.

You didn’t see the last interview he did where he half jokingly stated that he supports trump because if Trump doesn’t win, he’ll go to jail? Yeah, I don’t think he was joking

He’s lying. He’ll never go to jail or bankrupt. Those numbers mean nothing when you are a billionaire.

When you are 100,000$ in debt you are fucked! When you are 1 billion in debt the bank is fucked.

The main thing that gives X relevance is sports media and corporate communications. If they all move elsewhere, X would turn into an echo chamber like Truth Social.

Trumptards took over Clubhouse without the backing from the CEO. It’s a collective strategy, and not one man’s bigotry

That’s pretty crazy. Do you have examples of Reddit admins directly working with Democrat campaigns or politicians to remove content? I don’t think Hunter Biden’s dick pics count, as revenge porn is already illegal.

Edit: For anyone confused as to how my reply relates to the above post, the above used to be a claim that Reddit worked with democrats to remove content, but is now edited to say something completely different.

I’m confused, what Democrat politicians or campaign staff coordinated removing those communities from Reddit? And why would Democrats even need to? Those communities broke sitewide rules egregiously and frequently. Considering how long they were allowed to keep going, it seems more likely (though I’m sure not the actual case) that Donald Trump’s campaign coordinated with Reddit admins to keep The_Donald open.

The difference is that a community of people is downvoting and upvoting content. It’s not one person controlling what you see.

The first thing Musk did when he took over is un-ban many of those people. He’s since repeatedly banned progressive journalists, added the word “cis” to the hate speech filters, and made numerous other changes to the way the site operates to boost those voices and suppress opposing ones.

He’s not the only one to blame, to be sure, but if you think he hasn’t been spearheading the effort, you haven’t been paying attention. He’s been backing them and a whole lot more.
