Today’s game is Fallout New Vegas. I finally got it to work again after it kept crashing whenever i entered VATS. i ended up reinstalling (after backing up my saves) and now it works fine. I think this game i’ll spend a while on because it works well with my schedule (I can save at any time and it uses up a low amount of battery on my Steam Deck). I at least want to get old world blues done, but i hope to finish the DLC, complete the game, and 100% all achievements.

I took this screenshot while hunting down parts for the “all my friends have off switches” quest. This was in the area with the Spore People and Mr. Gutsy. I struggled with Mr. Gutsy and ended up saying Fuck it and used a grenade launcher on them. In this specific screenshot there is one right below the bridge from me which killed me right after the screenshot.

i’m all out. I’ve been healing consistently off of nuts i got in Honest Hearts and mole rat meat, my chosen play style of shooting things with a grenade launcher has been more of a curse than anything.

Crafting auto stimpack should help beating the game easier
I always stocking medicine & drugs especially when i played DEAD MONEY DLC . Hmm…you should use Portable tent mod for easy access to all your needs without sacrifice your carry weight, it’s configurable via terminal inside tent
With that mod you can loot everything without worrying about carry weight

I considered mods, but I’m using Linux and my modding experience with Skyrim was a headache so I vowed no more for Bethesda games. Dead money I’m dreading though. I’m already struggling with Roboscorpions so I may spend a few days grabbing as many Stimpaks and Healing supplies as possible after getting back (and fixing my ranger gear and pistol so I’m not relying on a grenade launcher)

Easy fix then, don’t install FNV + MO2/VORTEX/NMM + WryeBash/FNVEdit/BodySlide with Lutris, install it with Bottle, don’t forget to install both FNV + <insert_your_favorite_mod_manager_here> + modding tools inside one single bottle
In case of Skyrim from experience everything works with Bottle except FNIS (everytime i generate animation with FNIS it throw error & i don’t know why)

i’ll probably be sticking with NV for a while since it fits with my schedule (except for multiplayer games i play with friends, i tend to give those priority over single player games)

If you have a way to play NES games you should play “Cyberstadium Series: Basewars”.

Yes, it’s a lengthy title. But basically, it’s robots playing baseball. And if they get on base safely, they’re safe. But if you throw them out, the robots fight each other. And if the out robot wins, he’s safe. If the out robot loses, he’s out!

And you can upgrade your robots like mechs. You win baseball games, you get cash. You spend the cash on robot upgrades. Now you can fight better, throw faster, hit baseballs harder.

Yes, I like the game. How did you know?

Mobius is pretty fascinating and Klein is hilarious! They all have their own quirky charm that makes them all fun to interact with, though I’m partial to Dr. 0 simply because it’s the same guy that voiced Dr. Venture on The Venture Bros. and the Wild Wasteland trait has him reference the “giant walking eye” as a nod to the show.

Damn, there’s my reminder to watch Venture Bros. I always mean to give it a try but never get around to it

How straight forward is modding new Vegas on the steam deck? Keep meaning to go back to it but I’d prefer to play it on my deck and I just can’t imagine ever going back to vanilla NV.

I believe that Vortex, the nexus mod manager, has Linux support now that I have heard is fairly straightforward but I haven’t tried it myself.

I will say though that I recently used Vortex for modding my Fallout 4 playthrough and it was a breeze on windows while using a Nexus mod collection. Takes a lot of the pain out of modding for sure. So if you can get their mod manager running I think it’s worth a try. Could be as simple as downloading Vortex, finding a collection of mods you like, downloading the collection (usually a temporary subscription is nice for this, and then running the game. You could be done like I was in a matter of a couple hours.
