The sidebar shows the formatting. It is !communityname@instancename or instance/c/community (however the first one is more universal with apps).

No need to edit the sidebar, just view the sidebar here and it explains how to link a community.

I just finally learned how to link. And yes it may seem that I am slow but I am when it comes to this stuff. But can you provide a link that I can go to to better help promote mine and lemmy’s community?

Thanks for enthusiastically taking this on! Lemmy needed someone in the “Victoria Taylor” role.

A rather infamous Reddit employee/administrator who’s generally regarded as being responsible for the Golden aga of IAMA on Reddit (as she personally vetted and brought in some big name AMAs).

She was let go, which was one of the first instances of Reddit’s foray into the realm of anti-community bullshit.

and I will try to get them for you

If you don’t mind, I have a few questions/recommendations for you:

Are you someone with a many connections, or are you planning to just cold-call a bunch of notable people and hope for the best?

Where are you planning on hosting the AMAs themselves? On !amarequests@lemmy.world, or on !askmeanything@lemmy.ca? (If the latter, you might want to coordinate with the current mod, @frankyboi@lemmy.ca)

What is your plan for promoting the AMAs (on Lemmy or elsewhere), and collecting questions ahead of time? I think both of these would be an important kickstart for the AMAs, and help ensure their success. For example, a few posts like “Notable celebrity John Smith will be answering questions on August 1st from 11:00 to 13:00 UTC, post your questions for him here” in the weeks/days leading up to the AMA might be a good idea.

Thanks again for taking on this project; looking forward to seeing what comes of it!
