Which is why I’m hopeful that organisations like the EFF, the TOR browser’s foundation, Graphene OS and the general Android community comes up with something that will prevent this. I hope this will push for greater efforts in obfuscation of traffic from TOR, I2P, Freenet, Wireguard and the like along with better education amongst the general population.

Or your ISP detects traffic from something which is not reported by the backdoor on your phone.

Well, they are talking about “local scanning” or something, so that’s what I’d imagine.
I thought they wanted applications to scan and send data to them, but perhaps the Android OS itself isn’t too far of a reach
