Commenters here sure are sheltered. In the country, it’s insane to try to accommodate a dog that kills livestock.

You could try to get rid of it rather than kill it, but nobody is going to want it.

    • From the article:

Then, on the way home after the hunt, as Noem stopped to talk to a local family, Cricket escaped Noem’s truck and attacked the family’s chickens, “grabb[ing] one chicken at a time, crunching it to death with one bite, then dropping it to attack another”.

Cricket the untrainable dog, Noem writes, behaved like “a trained assassin”.

When Noem finally grabbed Cricket, she says, the dog “whipped around to bite me”. Then, as the chickens’ owner wept, Noem repeatedly apologised, wrote the shocked family a check “for the price they asked, and helped them dispose of the carcasses littering the scene of the crime”.

I’m not a Republican nor do I keep livestock, but I’m a biologist and death is part of life. People only seem to care when it’s a pet dog or cat, but we kill animals for various reasons very regularly.

Fuck off, idiot. At best she is a failure as an animal owner. Yet here you a apologising for her. She deserves misery and if you think treating animals under your care the way she does is acceptable then so do you.
