The most famous Ariel is the little mermaid, so some people might assume it’s a girls name.
I guess, but Ariel Sharon was prime minister of Israel for a long time, so it’s not exactly a male name one one’s heard of.

It was originally a Hebrew male name
Last I checked Ariel is a female name.
This guy doesn’t look like a woman to me.
You clearly never checked, because it’s a name used for both genders
