The head of a Gaza City hospital that treated some of those wounded in the bloodshed surrounding an aid convoy said Friday that more than 80% had been struck by gunfire, suggesting there was heavy shooting by Israeli troops.

At least 115 Palestinians were killed and more than 750 others injured Thursday, according to health officials, when witnesses said nearby Israeli troops opened fire as huge crowds raced to pull goods off an aid convoy. Israel said many of the dead were trampled in a stampede that started when desperate Palestinians in Gaza rushed the aid trucks. Israel said its troops fired warning shots after the crowd moved toward them in a threatening way.

Dr. Mohammed Salha, the acting director of Al-Awda Hospital, told The Associated Press that of the 176 wounded brought to the facility, 142 had gunshot wounds and the other 34 showed injuries from a stampede.

AP having difficulties to find the word “massacare”

TL;DR: ~80% of the flour massacare victims were shot by the IDF, not crowd crushed

Amazing that their initial excuse was “No, no, it wasn’t us shooting them that caused the deaths, it was the stampede…”

Yeah, genius, and WHAT caused the stampede? Oh, the SHOOTING? Right…

I was amazed I had to post pictures of shot people so often yesterday. All the IDF has to do is make up some blatant bullshit for an extreme war crime and the onus lies on others to disprove it.

Honestly, the point of posting such pictures is to rub people’s noses in what they are defending. Part of the problem is we keep on censoring ourselves because it makes us uncomfortable.

Oh, I get that, and they probably deserve it, but the random person just scrolling comments doesn’t. ;)

Could you repost the links here? I want to show them to some people trying to say it was a stampede.

Am I supposed to see anything specific in the videos and images?

In drone footage, all I can see is a mass of humanity swarming the aid trucks and running away panicked.

In the other footage, I hear gunfire, but nowhere near the 1000+ gunshots it would take to wound so many. I’m also not seeing anyone with clear gunshot wounds, or definitive trampling/crowd crush injuries.

In the still photos, I see people who are dead, but I’m not seeing any obvious signs as to how they died.

I don’t like seeing the death, but substantial proof would be helpful in determining the truth.

Well, Israel could release the entire drone footage (including when they openly admit they fired on the Palestinians).

Or let independent journalists into Gaza to investigate what happened.

This would be a simple way of absolving themselves.

The fact they haven’t speaks volumes.

“We’ve asked the government of Israel to investigate and it’s our assessment that they’re taking this seriously and they are looking into what occurred, so as to avoid tragedies like this from happening again,” National Security Council spokesperson John Kirby told reporters during Friday’s news briefing.

Kirby pointed to previous examples of Israel investigating incidents and said they have been “very honest and upfront” about mistakes. Kirby added that they have not given Israel a timeline to complete their investigation.

Don’t worry everyone, the Biden administration trusts that Isreal will investigate and give us an honest assessment of any “mistakes” they made. Now please just go back to being mad at Wendy’s while Biden goes around Congress to ship another batch of bombs to Israel to be dropped on apartment buildings and refugee camps.

Not sure if you saw the update but actually Israel didn’t do anything more than just fire a few warning shots!

The review, he said, which gathered information from commanders and troops in the field, determined that no strike was carried out towards the aid convoy.

“The majority of Palestinians were killed or injured as a result of the stampede,” Hagari said.

The dozens of Palestinians with bullet holes in them that day got them from, um, something else.
