They didn’t even finish “saying drop the gun.” And judging by the complete lack of return fire I’m going to guess that even if the homeowner was dumb enough to raise their gun at the cops, shots 2-64 were unnecessary and did nothing but place everyone in the next couple apartments in danger.

This whole story was ridiculous—the cops were completely in the wrong. They were responding to a call in one apartment and were told a different apartment had a window broken. They went to check it out, and this was their reaction. The woman they shot at was a friend of the apartment tenant.

The friend was shot 5 times and is lucky to be alive. These cops should never be allowed to touch a gun again.

Sorry, but if this happened where I live, the officers would be on trial on multiple accounts.

There is an investigation in progress, and the evidence is going to be handed over to a grand jury. This is a recent incident that is still unfolding.

That’s a whole lot of faith for a system that routinely declines to prosecute cops who kill people in the exact same circumstances.

I didn’t say I had faith in the system, I simply said what is happening. The end result is not yet known, and you are correct that there isn’t a great track record of police accountability in America.

That’s the problem though. It’s always, “wait for the investigation” and then a year later it’s “we investigated ourselves and found nothing wrong.”

Yes, I agree, it is a problem. I’m not arguing against you in the slightest. I have done nothing other than say the facts of what is occurring here.

There is a problem with police accountability in America, these cops were irresponsible, and an investigation is ongoing. I’m not sure what else you expect me to say that isn’t speculation or opinion.
