minus-squareRubberDucklinkfedilink-1•7 months agoThat’s not what is going on here. They managed to find single studies from the years 2016, 2020, 2022 and 2023 where it is actually joint papers. The schools these guys worked at should have known better, these guys should have known better… but it’s good that the regulations are now explicit.
Public research is published and public. Why is this news? Canadian universities aren’t really involved in private, for-profit research.
That’s not what is going on here. They managed to find single studies from the years 2016, 2020, 2022 and 2023 where it is actually joint papers.
The schools these guys worked at should have known better, these guys should have known better… but it’s good that the regulations are now explicit.
