And since you won’t be able to modify web pages, it will also mean the end of customization, either for looks (ie. DarkReader, Stylus), conveniance (ie. Tampermonkey) or accessibility.

The community feedback is… interesting to say the least.

    Ironically, these engineers are trying to make life more difficult for the average person. This shouldn’t be their job…

      Leur boulot, c’est de vendre de la pub à des annonceurs, là-dessus c’est plutôt assez efficace

        Yeah, unfortunately.

        I wish there was a better model that people would be willing to embrace.

        It seems that for some services, requiring payment seems obvious, while for others it seems like an insult to ask.

        More companies would be willing to offer a system where you pay to avoid advertisements if personal data wasn’t worth so much.

        All of these Google engineers could work anywhere they want. They chose to work for Google and they choose to continue working on projects that they know actively hurt others. They do share responsibility.

        I’m getting sick of devs acting like ethics doesn’t apply to them. The feds need to start heavily regulating tech companies, and they can start by breaking up Google
