    A stable authority is open to constructive criticism and not endangered by it. Instead it is strengthened by taking in and adapting to legitimate criticism.

    And this is a story as old as humanity. Do the stories praise the kings that instilled fear and denied any criticism? Or do they praise the wise kings that listened to their people and never got blinded by themselves?

      As far as I can tell, there never was a wise king that listened to their people. There are certainly stories about such kings but this is mostly people romanticising the past.

      I totally agree with what you said, but in time of major crisis, unity is much more important.

      Remember when covid happened and politicians made wrong decisions? People started criticising everything. The only thing that changed was that politicians started to make even worse mistakes. If a country is engaged in a war, this means destabilisation and eventually losing that war.
