This is my biggest problem with the left. You have to agree with all their opinions. Identify with all their beliefs, or you’re a nazi. J.K. Rowling is a good example. Donated millions of dollars to worthy causes. Huge feminist. Staunch leftist. But disagree with one subject regarding .000001% of the population (T people stuff)? Boom. She’s a bigoted, nazi transphobe.

This is a small example of cancel culture, but there’s this bi-annual video game speed running marathon called Games Done Quick (GDQ). They raise a few million dollars every six months for the Cancer Foundation and Doctors Without Boarders. When that new Hairy Potter video game dropped, not only did GDQ ban that game from participating in their event, they banned ALL Hairy Potter video games.

this is not a left vs right issue, if you had actually bothered to watch the video you’d know that “diet nazis” were glad to take Lindsay Ellis down.

in fact right-wing, fascists will gladly push cancel culture themselves, they mostly don’t care, but it’s another form of power they can abuse.

You have to agree with all their opinions. Identify with all their beliefs, or you’re a nazi.

maybe on the internet, but then you can go outside and touch grass and realize that that shit doesn’t matter.

Boom. She’s a bigoted, nazi transphobe.

I mean, she is a transphobe, she is not just disagreeing with that stuff, she is actively pushing her own shit that’s labelled as TERF. She is donating too.

Calling that comment, “incredibly hateful and transphobic”, can take power away from things that are actually hateful and transphobic. JK Rowling is a transphobe and can fuck off, for sure, but that comment was not hateful. They never even mentioned their own opinion on Trans rights anywhere in it. It was just an incredibly naive and ignorant take about the JK Rowling situation.

That being said, it was a bad take, for sure. It’s dumb to give anyone a pass for shitty behavior based on other things that they have done.

Hahaha now I’M a transphobe? Your hyperbole is off the scales. I don’t give a crap about T people one way or the other. I barely think about them. Hateful? Jesus christ. Get a grip on reality. Though seeing much time you spend on this website it’s a fair possibility the internet is your reality.

I heart breaks for you people. You have zero interest in any opinion that doesn’t perfectly align with your own. You willingly, and gladly, live in an echo chamber.
