minus-squarepachristlinkfedilinkEnglish1•1 year agoI’d guess it’s purely to avoid litigation from Twitter. If they didn’t poach Twitter employees or IP, and instead based some of their platform on open source, fediverse stuff, that’s not a multiyear lawsuit with hundreds of millions in lawyer fees.
If this is actually their thinking, why even bother with the Fediverse at that point?
