The decision comes after a group of Michigan voters filed a legal challenge to Donald Trump’s candidacy, arguing that he had violated the 14th Amendment.
Just to point out, this is for the Primary, not the General Election. Fun fact, the GOP and Democratic primaries are basically private entities. They could literally say “screw all your votes, we want this person to represent us” and there’s nothing we could do.
Now the general election on the other hand, that’s still bound by state and federal laws and where the target of any lawsuit needs to be, but there won’t be any standing to pre-emptively do it until he’s been selected for the GOP nomination.
