After weeks of reporting on Israel’s war from Gaza City, I was one of thousands of Palestinians who fled south on Friday.
minus-squareAutoTL;DRBlinkEnglish-9•1 year agoThis is the best summary I could come up with: Children, people in wheelchairs, the elderly, babies — everyone was carrying their backpacks, pillows, and mats. All the people started holding out their green IDs, raised their hands and their white flags. To our left was a tank and soldiers holding their rifles, watching us through binoculars on a sand hill. To our right were four soldiers standing in front a bombed-out building, posing and taking selfies on the rubble. As we approached the soldiers, I saw a naked man standing in front of the sand hill alongside three other men with their heads down. Another man with a yellow five-gallon water jug and a blond child were called over by the soldiers. The original article contains 1,590 words, the summary contains 112 words. Saved 93%. I’m a bot and I’m open source!
