Until you can save up for winter melons, then you replace 3/5 sunflowers with them in the back row and have two rows of repeaters. Then some tall nuts and spikeweed (my beloved).

So they get hit twice as many times? Idk
Just use a regular pea shooter for the same effect but strictly cheaper.
