The difficult manual-unlock procedure of Teslas has been well known and well documented by the RealTesla community for years.
Still nice to see more mainstream webpages talking about the ridiculous manual-release lever design of Tesla cars.
It should be straight up illegal to have anything other than extremely easy to access, intuitive, physical release for every single door on a vehicle.
Doubly so as multiple people have died as they’ve been locked into a Tesla-on-fire.
When the Tesla battery catches on fire, all electronics stop working. This is a significant safety issue.
