hi, I use she/her, unless you’re also doing the thing where you intentionally misgender me because I disagree with you

Do I strike you as a person that would do that?

I can i imagine it happening commonly in the instance you picked as your base, though.

That’s the problem, you can imagine lots of things with no basis in reality. I’ve been explicitly misgendered by one other .worlder n this exact thread, explicitly as retaliation. Never run into that on ml- credit the mods for removing that, and then it’s weird to be getting told it’s happening from my domain right after that

Like to be clear - I have issues with the admins on ml, if I’m recommending trans people I know to make accounts it’s not going to be my first recommendation, but it’s also not going to be any of the other lemmies either. This kind of behavior is just too rampant and poorly controlled

Wait, so it happened once and you jump to my throat as if it happens all the time on here?

I mean, even one time is obviously too often, but assuming I would do it deliberately when it only happened one time before is a bit unfair, don’t you think?

Especially when you argue that I shouldn’t imagine ml, an instance I watch every time I’m here.

And you say it never happens in ml but always on world? I’m a bit confused here, because I’ve seen exactly those kinds of comments over there.

Not as much as on reddit, way less, but still, I didn’t just imagine it but observed it more than once.

I’m not arguing that mods wouldn’t remove it, they did here as well, but it’s happening with their users frequently enough that I noticed.

Hasn’t happened to me yet doesn’t mean never, and it’s certainly not always from world, I can direct you to the /c/transgender mod log if you’re really interested

I’m actually very interested. I’m curios how Lemmy moderators compare to other sites that I had the pleasure of getting a look behind the curtain.

If you edit your original comment misgendering me I’ll consider it.

Frankly this far into the exchange I shouldn’t have to ask

I hear made up stuff from worlders all the time, this feels like the latest instance. I can point to two instances of me getting misgendered in a single .world thread, and you’re like ‘I see it all the time from .ml’
