In the aftermath of Tuesday’s presidential debate between Vice President Kamala Harris and former President Donald Trump, Trump’s running mate, Ohio U.S. Sen. JD Vance, made a series of controversial, bigoted, and inflammatory statements during an interview with CNN’s Kaitlan Collins. Vance doubled down on debunked claims about Haitian immigrants abducting pets to eat them and falsely linked the migrant community to rising rates of HIV and tuberculosis in Springfield, Ohio. His remarks have since drawn widespread condemnation for their harmful, fear-mongering nature.

      Haitians of all people? Why?

Because if they said “Jamaicans” it would be too obvious they were talking about Kamala Harris’s family.

I’m just so frustrated. Here we are, I feel the Earth melting under my feet more and more. Every day I wake up to 3-4 weather warnings on my phone. Yet, all half the country can focus on is racist and bigoted bullshit. I truly believe we will all die while listening to the same insane musings.

    • Gotta pick on groups that very few people are familiar with. Over the decades it’s been Africans, Irish, Italians, Chinese, Japanese, Homosexuals, Muslims, Transgendered, Venezuelans (biggest driver of recent immigration), and now Haitians. If you decided to demonize Mexicans now you’d probably instantly get boos and sour looks because nearly all of us know someone of Mexican lineage and can sniff out most bullshit about their culture.
