A bunch of very wealthy people are behind on it because it doesn’t make them money.
I know billionaires are deeply unpopular here, but I would support anyone who can fix this problem to become infinitely wealthy and live like a god.
The problem is that while green energy and technology are profitable, they don’t tend to be easily monopolized as easily as thier competitors. If your used to a monopoly where you can name your price and the government will bow becuse think of the gas prices, and equal playing field is a terrifying possibility. I mean if billion people die becuse of your product that’s inconvenient, but losing that sort of power, that’s terrifying, and these people are used to spending a bit of money to make terrifying go away.
Fucked up as it is, I’m actually glad. Our species is so fucking evil to each other and it’s horrifying to comprehend how much worse it could get if we don’t destroy ourselves.
I’m starting to feel that way too. Watching all of the killing going on in the East. Then instead of helping, the West is making a profit off of it. Eventually when things are bad enough the West will be killing each other too.
I’m ready to watch it all burn to the ground. I’ve got my lawn chair and popcorn. 😕
