This is a terrible time for Ontario’s provincial funding to be at a historic low.
The EU would be mentally challenged if they weren’t already drafting a massive investment in STEM, and fast tracking American immigration.
Brain draining America of as many STEM professionals as possible is the best way to neuter the fascist dictatorship, boost domestic economies, and prevent adversaries like China scooping them up.
America is only a super power because the majority of Europes academics migrated between 1930 and 1950. They wouldn’t have succeeded with nuclear weapons or won the space race without them (especially Nazi rocket scientists).
I’m a queer + brown woman in STEM, have been in my industry for over 10 years, and already signed my ticket out of here. I’m doing my part
(I’m also a professional circus performer which is a nice cultural bonus for my new home)
Look where that got us, we have a Nazi who cosplays as a rocket scientist in the white house.
There are several European countries I would move to for work. The job industry there is something I am unsure of though. Specifically, it seems that the aerospace industry is not as lucrative. I do not want to be right about that. I know airbus is an option but I would like to be in the defense aerospace industry. I think that would be difficult without citizenship. With big daddy T in office I don’t think it would be difficult to get people to move in general though.
Some of the biggest hurdles I see are the double income tax and the fact that many Americans are used to a 30yr fixed rate mortgage which is profoundly not a thing in the rest of the world.
Are the taxes deducted straight from your paycheck? Ive heard of that before. Complete bullshit from the US. If its not taken directly from my paycheck I will not give them anything. The IRS is too slow to do anything. It took them over 2 years to send me a tax return. Unless the IRS is missing out on serious cash from you they won’t do much.
Fucking Krasnov incentivizing rich hucksters to buy $5 million visas and de-incentivizing the STEM folks we desperately need.
