Pretty sure it’s supposed to be specifically hard-left, maybe conspiracy oriented (because they would assume Trump’s Russian ties and criminal guilt are a conspiracy theory), equivalent to Qanon but on the other side.
So going by context, and correct me if I’m wrong here, but doesn’t the existence of “blueanon” imply that conservatives who use the word recognize that Q is bullshit?
I think it more so derives from the same place Q derives from rather than deriving from Q himself.
Chanboard users refer to each other as anons. I am still somewhat confused, as the conservative would presumably refer to op disparagingly as a “blue[British word for ciggie]” as opposed to “blueanon”, seeing as how “anon” has connotations of comradery. This is further compounded by the fact that we have usernames. We’re not anonymous. We’re pseudononymous.
If I had to guess, this is due to moderation preventing the use of slurs in regular speech in most regions of Lemmy.
The other day a conservative on Lemmy (!) called me a wokeboi blueanon, so I am qualified to help with the definition:
Called you a what? The hell is “blueanon”?
left-leaning anon probably
Urr, but why would that be “blue”?
Edit: oh wait, the US Democrat color is blue?
Yeah, blue and red are often used to describe the Democrats and Republicans, respectively.
Yes, it’s the reverse of how it is in Canada or the UK.
Gay
But isn’t anon fundamentally right wing in it’s ideology? I mean, I’m no expert but this feels like calling someone a meat eating vegan.
Anon means anonymous.
Ahhh, Qanon had just ruined that one for me I guess, fair call out
As I have said when replying to another fellow, the use of anon is still baffling here.
Blue version of an anon, I guess?

Wouldn’t left-leaning anon be redanon? Color of communist parties is red.
Us centric, the colors are reversed (ish, as the democratic party isn’t really a left wing party).
Not even to my face, the coward
So going by context, and correct me if I’m wrong here, but doesn’t the existence of “blueanon” imply that conservatives who use the word recognize that Q is bullshit?
I am not adequately trained or compensated to untangle such a cobweb of bullshit
