Millions face disaster as Sudanese army and RSF accused of using food access as a weapon in on-going war
Sudan is facing a famine that could become worse than any the world has seen since Ethiopia 40 years ago, US officials have warned, as aid deliveries continue to be blocked by the warring armies but arms supplies to both sides continue to flow in.
With much of the world’s attention focused on Gaza, the scene of another human-made famine, Sudan is already the worst humanitarian crisis in the world and is slipping towards a humanitarian disaster of historic proportions, with far less media coverage and global concern. A UN humanitarian appeal for the country has received only 16% of the funds it needs.
“We need the world to wake up to the catastrophe happening before our very eyes,” Linda Thomas-Greenfield, the US ambassador to the UN, told reporters.
The article is talking about the fact that Sudan is seeing a famine resulting from a civil war in Sudan where both sides are using food as a weapon by blocking transport in.

That if my tax dollars went to aid nstead of bombs to commit war crimes, there’d be less dead in Sudan
I thought it was pretty obvious.
This is a war in Sudan. The US is not a party to the conflict. Are you claiming that blocking the food aid is being made possible by some form of military aid in the form of bombs?

The US is providing food aid. The parties to the conflict are blocking its delivery.
The US is not a direct party to the conflict but they helped building it to help Israel get “normalization”. Also the civil war is a proxy war, where the US does not want to get in the way of it ally Saudi Arabia who again is vital for the US strategy of dividing the Middle East over Israel and ensuring destabilization of the region while gaining access to cheap ressources.

I’m sorry sir we are talking about the US needing to aid all countries all the time with no military here. Not about some random African nation they should’ve helped the years ago already.
Not help like they helped the middle east though. Or not not helped like they did with the middle east.
Either way, we blame America regardless of whether they had anything remotely to do with it.
