The Biden administration is nervously watching a dispute between Canada and India, with some officials concerned it could upend the U.S. strategy toward the Indo-Pacific that is directed at blunting China’s influence there and elsewhere.
Publicly, the administration has maintained that Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau’s allegations that the Indian government may have been involved in the killing of a Sikh separatist near Vancouver are a matter between the two countries.
But U.S. officials have also repeatedly urged India to cooperate in the investigation. Those calls have been ignored thus far by India, which denies the allegations.
Behind the scenes, U.S. officials say they believe Trudeau’s claims are true. And they are worried that Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi may be adopting tactics to silence opposition figures on foreign soil akin to those used by Russia, Iran, Saudi Arabia and North Korea, all of which have faced similar accusations.
No proof? The U.K. and the U.S. have the call/email records. Get your head out of the sand. Given how extremely embarassed India is and the childish meltdown they’re having, they are probably hesitating to release them publicly to avoid more childish meltdowns. I’m sure they showed India the records, but India will lie, as they do.
And while you talk about sovereignty, what about the sovereignty of Canada?
Have they shown the proof to a court or is it in the public records. Is there a court order. Trudeau is a politician, his allegations might just be a political act and nothing might come of it.
Till then it is mere unsupported allegations. I hope you believe in innocent until proven guilty. If not then Canada forfiets it’s sovereignty when it supports and promotes terrorism in its supposed friendly nation. It is a terrorist state and according to the West’s playbook deserves action.
What’s the point of posting it publicly? Canada, the U.S. and the U.K. are doing India a big favour by only showing the evidence privately. They don’t want another meltdown from India and they will probably just deny it again anyways. India needs to get it together and stop pushing their luck.
So we should believe in the words of a terrorist nation, a Nazi supporter, a white supremacist country which does genocide of native population and wages war on false premises.

US, UK merely agree that the allegations are serious none of them have publicly condemned India. None of them confirmed of having any proof of Indian involvement.

If you have any proof show it in the court ICJ or even Canadian court which is known to let go of terrorists and Nazis scot free.
Of course they are playing with words. They’re playing it carefully when facing a master of funny business. And “shared intelligence” is inherently from a third party. What’s said was said.
Anyways, if it’s just Canada, which nation has more credibility on the world stage? India? Is that even a comparison?
