Yes, but that’s one step more. And additionally you have to somehow handle links that want to open in another app when opened in the mobile Firefox, eg YouTube.
I have it set to never do it automatically but always ask. Not because of this specifically, but because I don’t want other apps to track me when I’m just browsing the web.

Oh, I misread what you wrote, sorry. But any link from within Firefox can be sent to a desktop browser, that’s what I always used.
